Crock-pots, geckos and public speaking

So I have become a crock pot cook extraordinaire! Since we haven't bought a stove yet it is my only means of putting a hot meal on the table. I think, and I'm pretty sure Andrew would agree, our crock pot meals have been quite tasty! Some fun dishes-lasagna (the first lasagna I have ever made by myself in fact), sloppy joes, breakfast casserole, and right now I have some mac n' cheese brewing. Every time I have been a little nervous about how it will turn out, but am pleasantly surprised. I have http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/ to thank for several of the recipes.
The other night I was talking to my mom on the phone and one of Malachi's cars rolled under the couch, he REALLY wanted the car back so I proceeded to pull the couch away from the wall so I could reach the car. Little did I know there was a creepy crawly creature of the lizard persuasion waiting to FREAK me out! It was tiny and super fast and could have been cool except for the FREAK OUT factor. I yelled for Andrew who promptly came and said "what do you want me to do?" classic. I said "Catch the thing!". So he got a box and cornered it and outside it went. Meanwhile my mom, who mind you is still on the phone, is laughing her head off, and saying I should keep the gecko in the house to eat the bugs. Which I probably should have done looking back, but like I said, it FREAKED me out!

Our last adventure of the weekend was on Sunday. Andrew and I both had to give talks. The branch pres. came by last Monday and asked us to speak this Sunday, not even a weeks notice, but I guess we should expect that in our tiny branch. It went really well, I've never given a talk or lesson before where I really felt good about it afterward, but this time I felt really good about how it went. I'm pretty sure it wasn't my doing, I gurantee you I had help up there. There is no way I could have talked for 20 minutes on my own! That's right, 20 minutes.

Well I think that's long enough, I'll let you all know how tomorrow goes! Think pink (but don't tell Andrew!).

I am now all up to speed on life in Texas! I'm glad you are doing well, even though it is hot and you have creepy crawlies in your home! Malachi is adorable, as always!

Hey, I have a few crock pot meals that I love. I'll e-mail them to you later today! Take care!
